About Registration
食品には、安全と安心を保証するための成分表示や産地証明があり、 自動車には、安全性を維持するための車検制度があります。 同じように、私たちが受け継いできた茶碗や皿などの陶磁器―― すなわち文化資産にも、その価値を裏付ける客観的な記録が求められています。 ARTS美術科学研究所では、科学的分析に基づいて作品の情報を調査・記録し、 次世代へ確かな形で継承していくための第一歩として、文化資産登録を行っています。
Food products carry ingredient labels and origin certifications to ensure safety and trust, and automobiles undergo mandatory inspections to maintain their safety. In the same way, the bowls, plates, and other ceramic objects that have been passed down to us — in other words, our cultural assets — also require objective records that support and verify their value. At ARTS Scientific Research Institute, we conduct Cultural Asset Registration as the first step toward preserving these works for future generations, investigating and documenting their information through scientific analysis.

In the registration of artworks, the most essential element is objective fact. Rather than relying solely on subjective connoisseurship, we conduct comprehensive scientific investigations. The registered data is permanently preserved in our global database.

状態記録・保存管理
Condition Documentation & Preservation Management高精細なデジタル記録と成分分析データを統合することで、作品の「現在の状態」を客観的に記録します。この記録は、将来的な劣化や損傷の確認、修復や保存方針を判断するための基準資料として活用されます。
By integrating high-resolution digital records with material composition analysis data, we objectively document the present condition of each work. These records serve as reference standards for identifying future deterioration or damage and for supporting conservation and restoration decisions.
真贋確認の補助
Authentication Support科学的分析によって得られたデータは、 作品固有の特徴を示す「基準情報」として記録されます。 この記録は、将来の再鑑定や追加調査の際に、 他の資料と比較するための重要な根拠となり、 真贋判断の信頼性を高める補助資料として活用されます。
Scientific analysis generates data that define the unique characteristics of each work, establishing reference information that serves as a reliable baseline. These records function as essential comparative materials for future re-evaluation and additional investigation, supporting more reliable authentication and verification decisions.

当研究所では、最先端の機材を駆使し、美術品が持つ固有特性を科学的に解析します。
Using advanced instrumentation, we scientifically analyze the unique material characteristics inherent in each work of art.
なお、本調査における元素分析は、測定装置の特性および 日本陶磁研究において一般的に用いられる分析手法に基づき、 検出可能な元素を対象として実施しています。 そのため、本結果は主として重元素を中心とした 検出可能範囲に限定されたものとなります。 なお、軽元素を含むより詳細な元素分析を必要とする場合は、 別途ご相談に応じます。
Elemental analysis in this investigation has been conducted based on the characteristics of the analytical instrument and commonly accepted methodologies used in Japanese ceramic research. Accordingly, the reported results are primarily limited to detectable heavy elements. Further analysis involving light elements may be arranged upon separate consultation if required.
光学分析
紫外線励起蛍光や赤外線反射法を用い、表面の修復歴や下絵の有無を確認します。肉眼では捉えられない時代の痕跡を可視化します。
Ultraviolet fluorescence and infrared reflectography are used to detect restoration traces and underlying drawings, revealing historical details invisible to the naked eye.
元素分析
蛍光X線分析（XRF）により、使用されている顔料や金属成分を原子レベルで特定。制作当時の素材との整合性を検証します。
X-ray fluorescence (XRF) analysis identifies pigments and metallic elements at the elemental level, verifying consistency with materials used during the period of creation.
顕微鏡画像解析
高倍率のデジタルマイクロスコープによる貫入や筆致の観察。経年変化による自然な劣化であるかを精密に判断します。
High-magnification digital microscopy enables detailed observation of cracks and brushwork, supporting precise evaluation of natural aging characteristics.
放射性炭素年代測定
(外部依頼 / External referral)
木彫や紙、布などの有機素材について、炭素14 (C-14) を用いた年代測定を実施。科学的な時間軸に基づいた制作時期の特定を支援します。
Radiocarbon (C-14) dating of organic materials such as wood, paper, and textiles supports estimation of production periods based on scientific chronology.
